It was a job like any other,
In a beautiful city I’d visited before.
Nothing spectacular about any of it,
Except he was in town too.
What were the odds?
My best friend, my oldest friend.
The boy I’d crushed on briefly in high school
We hadn’t seen each other in a few years,
But I planned to show him my favorite parts of the city.
To laugh and drink together, to just have fun.
That was it.
