When it’s too hot to go out I always I have tons of fresh fruit on hand. Yeah, yeah I know I’m a health nut so fresh fruit is healthy and full of blah, blah, blah. But when the temperature gets in the upper 80’s and higher but you still want to drink–because it’s the best way to avoid heat related rage!–without sweat dripping down your face. At least I do.

So when the weather gets like this I like to whip up a batch of my famous Drunk Smoothies. You’ve never heard of them? Well they’re famous here in Mustang Prairie. You get all that good stuff that’s in fruit (including water) and an ice cold way to get your drink on!

What you’ll need: 4 peaches (2 per person), 1 lime, juiced, 2 oz. Tequila, 3-5 mint leaves, 1 orange, juiced and ice

Peel the peaches and remove the pit and add everything in a blender. Run on high until there are no big chunks and drink up! Garnish with orange or peach slices and tiny mint leaves.

Peaches are everywhere in summer so grab a lot and invite the girls over for an afternoon of drunk smoothies. And if you have a great cook like Shellie in your circle…have her bring some delicious bite-size dishes.
