“Come, lass. Get on a plane with me.”
After a business deal goes awry, Laird Callum McRae is in over his head, struggling to keep his castle afloat. He knows exactly what he has to do to save his family of brothers. Collecting a debt from the corrupt man who swindled him is his only mission. But when he meets a compassionate and determined woman, his plans change.
Now, he needs to get the girl while confronting her father…
Mathilda Storm will do anything for her sister—even if it means entering into a contract for a loveless marriage. After all, it will solve her family’s problems. But she doesn’t count on meeting a broad-shouldered, rugged Scottish laird. And resisting him is harder than she imagined. As the chemistry between Callum and Mathilda ignites, Mathilda is torn between her desire and her need to help her family. Can the practical daughter marry the Scot without losing her heart along the way?
In response, she dragged the silver strap of her dress over one shoulder. It fell short of exposing her, but a wave of heat and adrenaline engulfed me.
I breathed out through my nose and commanded, “Get back on the chair.”
Mathilda’s lips parted but she did as I asked, perching on the edge of the ski lodge’s curved armchair. Then I dropped to my knees in front of her and she squeaked.
“I’ve wanted you for such a long time,” she confessed, reaching out a hand to trail over my shoulder. Mapping me.
I placed my palms on her knees then slid them up her thighs, taking her satin dress with me. Baring those long legs I’d obsessed over from the moment we’d met.
Finally, after weeks of denying myself thoughts like these, I let my eyes take their fill. Of smooth thighs, of the outline of the black lace I glimpsed where I pushed her dress higher.
Christ, I was ready to explode just from the sight of her underwear.
Mathilda cupped my chin and held it, forcing me to look at her. “Go slow.” She glanced down to where my cock tented my boxers. “I’d wondered if every part of you was in proportion. I’m glad it’s not just your castle that has an impressive tower.”
I fought back a smile. “I’m glad to say I’m not lacking. Either in castle or cock.”
With that, she leaned in and laid her sweet lips on mine.
