I have been so excited to read Afton & Hamish’s story that I gobbled up Single Dad in a Kilt in like 2 sittings. He is the protective (now) single dad trying to manage a daughter, a business and a bunch of goats. Hamish is used to being the one to provide everyone around him with help, whether it’s legal or simply taking on a few goats for a former client, but he’s struggling being a single dad, family lawyer and owner of a falling down farm house.

Enter Afton, the woman he’s carried a torch for since the beginning of time but until recently she was promised to someone else–his best friend. When Afton learns that Colin is set to be married–not to her–she finall (finally!!!!) returns to Scotland and it’s nothing at all like what she’s expecting.

Armed with her chef’s education, Afton wants to find a way to open a restaurant that lets her stay in town and serve her kind of food. But Hamish needs help and not just the culinary kind. With a meddling little girl and lifelong friends for backup, it turns out that the simmering passion between them won’t be ignored.

I LOVED the story more than I can say, almost more than I love Kyla & Raleigh’s story. Almost. They were great together, you really got a sense of their lifelong friendship and it’s so seamless to watch it all fall itno place, not just with Afton but the rest of the crew as well. It was a fun time that kept me smiling, laughing, gasping and pressin’ a hand to my heart.
