When I first started reading In The Spotlight I thought it was going to be one of those books that focus too much on the behind the scenes of making a movie and Hollywood. It wasn’t at all. We get to know Judy an actress who has yet to land the role that would make her a household name. She has a shady agent so she takes matters into her own hands, proving that she’s a strong heroine which I love and appreciate.

The role she lands puts her in the orbit of a famous movie star and they become friends. This is the story of a woman who’s dreams come true. She crushes it and finds herself developing feelings for a man who is guaranteed heartbreak…or is he?

My favorite part, aside from the romance, was the MOVIE!!! I know, right? But seriously it was so emotional and poignant and I swear I shed a couple tears during points in the story. It was written beautifully and I ate up this story in one short weekend.
