Romance Book Review! ~ The Sun Never Dies : A Novel by A.R. Hadley

Do you believe in love at first sight?

A laconic novel fraught with exquisite tension and arresting beauty, The Sun Never Dies is the unforgettable story of one woman’s journey back to self after encountering a strange young man twenty-three years her junior.

Meet Beth, a newly single woman in the late 1990s, and Liam, a recent college grad backpacking his way across the world — as the two collide unexpectedly one fateful night.

Liam’s philosophy on life greatly conflicts with Beth’s. She’s also concerned her family won’t approve. Over the course of two years, this couple sifts their way through a series of life-changing events, ultimately resulting in growth and lessons learned. Namely two:

That we meet people for a reason.
And there are no coincidences.

Leaving the reader to beg the question…

Does the soul plan out this miraculous trip we call life?

romance book reviews

The Sun Never Dies is an age-gap romance between Beth and Liam. Beth is divorced after a less than stellar marriage to a terrible man and she’s gun-shy, or seemingly not really interested in romance until one night she meets Liam. He compliments her beauty and being a young man who likes what he sees, he wants Beth.

From there it’s a push and pull romance. Beth wants Liam but between his young age and her bad marriage, she’s keeping her distance. She ducked out early but that wasn’t the last she’d see of Liam, and the way he comes back into her life? OMG!!! The Sun Never Dies is an interesting and entertaining age-gap romance and I really appreciated the fact that Beth wasn’t so hung up on their age difference, but other things.

A.R. Hadley put together an intense story set in the 90s, and I had a good time between these pages.
