ABOUT:

Maya Goodwin doesn’t believe in holding back. Ever. As a cop, she never hesitated to throw herself into harm’s way to save someone. Even after an injury on the job forces her to retire, she’s not afraid to keep risking it all to get the life she wants. With a new career teaching martial arts to kids already underway, she’s looking forward to the future – and taking a chance on the unbelievably hot Dr. Alex Nolan.

Maya – daring and spontaneous – is the exact opposite of what Alex always thought he wanted. But when a nine-year-old daughter he never knew existed shows up on his doorstep, Maya is the one who helps them hold it together. With love on the line, will the guy who’s always played it safe be willing to take the biggest risk of all?

What can I say? I LOVED Maya. She is a badass and a geek, and best of all she isn’t afraid to go after what she wants! A former—maybe—cop who was injured on the job, she turns her energy to helping kids unleash their inner superhero…how cool is that? I had a serious girl crush on her from the moment she appeared on the page.

And Alex was a hot slice of man meat for sure, but it took me awhile to warm up to him because he was wishy-washy for a good part of the story, at least in my opinion. While I understood his need to learn how to be a father (no spoilers here people), I also thought he used it as an excuse. I mean this is the twenty-teens, there’s no need to marry a woman who hid so much from you for SO long!

But my favorite part of Forever Mine was watching Maya and Alex as their relationship grew into something beautiful and fantastic. They didn’t do a lot of ‘typical’ romance novel dates either. There were swords and crafts involved, oh and comic books!

Eric Nicolas created the perfect opposites attract love story that kept me up way too late to see how everything would turn out.

Now I feel I may have to go back and give book 1, Completely Yours, another try!
