ABOUT:

It all started with a bet…

Kassidy Thomas decided to stop hiding behind her past, and start living, but she didn’t quite bet on that start including her singing a horrible song in front of the handsomest bachelor in the NFL, Wyatt Hamilton. She also doesn’t think he’d then consequently ask her out on a date, but turns out when you’re actually living life…crazy things happen.

He needs to win…

Wyatt Hamilton is a player in every sense of the word. Married to the game, he has no interest in relationships, love, or even second nights with the same woman. But from the second the girl-next-door beauty Kassidy knocks on his door to deliver a singing telegram, nothing goes as planned. He can’t stop thinking about her, and keeps showing up on her doorstep for more. That is, until the unthinkable happens…

And all bets are off.

I wasn’t sure about Catching The Player at first. The description appealed to me even though I have felt kind of burnt out on man whore football players, but Diane Alberts managed to make it fresh and funny and sexy.

And as soon as Kassidy started to sing—badly and off-key and without her glasses—for Wyatt I knew I would love this story. That was one of the top 10 meet-cutes around, especially her priceless reaction to the very man who (spoiler alert) was inadvertently responsible for her losing the bet in the first place!

Instead of making this one of those stories where the playboy footballer can’t commit, Diane Alberts made it so he couldn’t stay away. I loved that he was somehow just compelled to show up at Kassidy’s place because he had to see her, and I really loved that even Wyatt was baffled by his own behavior. Kassidy’s life was kind of in a holding pattern because of her past and Wyatt, well he was already married. To the game. This couple was incredible together, funny and sexy, fun and sweet.

The drama was low key but it was more than enough to keep me interested and invested in their story.

Catching The Player moved along at a fast pace but nothing felt like it was rushed. Every scene played out the way it should without any manufactured drama, which meant I enjoyed every single page as I gobbled it up. This is the kind of romance I like to read, fun and light and with a hint of drama. Plus I can’t remember the last time I read a book and smiled through the entire thing.

Now though, I feel compelled to go back and read the rest of the Hamilton Family series.
