MY REVIEW:
Dear Dixie is a Legacy Falls novella that takes a unique twist on our modern day military romance stories in that much of the story is told through letters. What the letter writers, Dixie and Zane, don’t know is that they have an even deeper connection that they know.
Zane was Dixie’s older brother’s best friend and the love of her young life. But as these things go Zane didn’t return her feelings—she was practically a child so don’t judge him too harshly—and it broke her heart. But the death of Dixie’s parents and then her brother has left even deeper scars than his rejection. Suffering from anxiety and depression, she writes to this unknown soldier.
I liked the premise of Dear Dixie, a lot. I felt the pull of Dixie and the pull of Zane, but I never felt the connection between them. Given their history and their pain, there should have been more and there wasn’t. So while I enjoyed this story, I couldn’t get into it as much as I would have liked.

Growing up, J.L. Baldwin has always had a love of fairy tales and happily ever afters. Now, she loves her fairy tales grittier, darker, and sexier, while keeping that happily ever after ending. She has always dreamed of becoming an author and that dream finally became reality when she debuted her first book in December of 2015.
In her free time when she isn’t writing, she can be found with a book in her hand, obsessing over Disney, thinking about a sunny beach somewhere, all while still thinking about the stories that have yet to be written.
J.L. is known for writing sexy, enticing romance with delicious, devious twists that are sure to entrance you for years and years to come.
