SYNOPSIS:
Wanted: fake fiancée for a wealthy rancher
Benefits: all your dreams come true
#1 Rule: don’t fall in love
The woman on his doorstep is brash, independent and holding a baby! His father won’t approve, which makes her perfect for Joshua Grayson’s scheme. He’ll pretend he’s marrying unsuitable Danielle Kelly to keep his father from meddling. He won’t be tempted to touch her, to claim her…or to fall in love.
“I am going to do the hard fucking yards for you Danielle.” ~Joshua
Anyone who has ready any of my book reviews on Maisey Yates books knows that I’m a fan. A super fan. An über fan. But I’m not a fan girl so if I don’t like a story I’ll say what I didn’t like and why.
When that happens, I’ll let you know!
Claim Me, Cowboy was a different kind of book but it takes place in one of my favorite small towns, Copper Ridge. This is a fake relationship/marriage of convenience romance with a twist. Joshua’s dad puts an ad in the paper to help him find a wife, which he doesn’t want. So Joshua puts up a second ad in search of the most unsuitable bride he could find.
In walks Danielle. Frail, bedraggled and carrying a baby in her arms. She was perfectly inappropriate for Joshua. Or so he thought.
I liked that the hero and heroine were both seriously flawed people who handled it in different ways. Without a doubt, they’d both been through hell and back. But Danielle was strong and forging ahead where Joshua was content to hide from his trauma and work to avoid a second one at all costs. I loved that neither of them were sure of their feelings and how they both let their baggage get in the way because, let’s face it, it’s kind of annoying when one is super sunny while the other is dark and bleak and angsty.
Joshua was gruff and kind of chilly towards Danielle and baby Riley which rubbed me the wrong way until I found out why. But despite all that, I still really liked Joshua a bit more than Danielle who I admired the hell out of. She made sacrifices not many would and she was so good to Riley I was rooting for her right from the beginning.
Claim Me, Cowboy is another amazing Copper Ridge romance.
