Game Change by Evelyn Sola contained some of my favorite tropes—vacation romance, second chance and a newbie for my likes list, enemies to lovers—and it was such a good read. Brynne is a character I really relate to, a woman of color working hard and trying to move up in the world. Her friends were great and the conversations between them felt real. And her anger was visceral when she learned she was passed over for that dang promotion.

The romance on either side of the promotion? Hot. Intense. Fun. I really appreciated that Colin didn’t just shrug off her feelings and toss his success in her face, it made him really endearing when I was really ready to jump up and proclaim myself Team Brynne. Game Change was a really good time from start to finish.
