ABOUT:
Avery Burton loves her job as assistant to Logan Calloway. A big time Hollywood A-lister, Logan spends all his time on the West Coast leaving her to run his charity in Whiskey River. Staying busy and giving back to the community that is the only real family she’s ever known suits Avery just fine…until Logan announces he’s coming home for Christmas.
Ever since his mother abandoned him as a young boy, Whiskey River hasn’t felt like home to Logan Calloway. Still, he heads home for the holidays, intending to reflect on his career and personal life. When he sees his assistant Avery in his home, Logan begins to realize that Whiskey River has more to offer than just bad memories.
As Logan and Avery spend more time together working for the charity, it becomes impossible to deny their chemistry and attraction.

This book was a kindle free read at the time of posting.
Once Upon a Texas Christmas was a fun, short Christmas story featuring two people with BIG issues, courtesy of their parents. Logan was the son of the town drunk who became a cautionary tale, leaving him feeling lower than dirt. Avery was the daughter of brilliant scientists who treated parenting like a fifty-fifty task to be handled. So like I said, issues.
But Avery works for Logan’s charitable donation and when they finally spend time together things get flirty, fast. Despite reservations on both their parts, Logan and Avery learn that sometimes chemistry is hard to ignore. They were hot together—really, really hot—but it wasn’t just that. They gravitated towards each other and it was a delight to read their story.
Once Upon a Texas Christmas didn’t have a lot of excess drama which I appreciated because both Logan and Avery were in their own way without anyone else’s help.

ABOUT:
Jaded Army medic Ryan Malone never expected his next mission would bring him back from Afghanistan to tiny Wishful, Mississippi. His great uncle’s health is failing and the cantankerous old coot has pushed everyone in the family away. Ryan is their last resort to get Uncle Percy to move into assisted living before he breaks a hip—or something worse. He’s looking to get in, get it done, and get back out. That definitely doesn’t include taking time out for a sweet-faced waitress with a heart bigger than the Atlantic.
Interior designer Hannah Wheeler is a long way from the high-powered clients of her old Atlanta firm. Despite the fact that she’s currently spending her days waiting tables, she’s discovered she really enjoys the small-town life she found with her sister. This Christmas season, she’s finally ready to introduce Wishful to her true capabilities by using her skills to spread some holiday spirit. But with Ryan and Percy, she’s definitely got her work cut out for her.
Will Hannah’s evergreen cheer thaw their frosty hearts and remind these two that the most important part of the holidays is family?

Hannah and Ryan were great together! From the moment we meet her, decorating the diner Christmas tree with forks and spoons, she won me over. Bubbly and sweet with a hint of spice, despite the fear and trauma that brought her to Wishful.
Ryan was a little gruff to start but he was a certified badass so that much was expected, but seeing him with Percy told me right away that he wasn’t a jerk, just a man with a lot on his shoulders. Together they were fantastic: flirty and fun and sexy. And the best part was that they embarked on a bit of matchmaking on their own which was sweet and funny.
One of the things that makes reading a Kait Nolan novel such a wonderful experience is the Casserole Patrol but during A Lot Like Christmas I have to say that Percy stole the show. A recent widower who hasn’t been able to cope with life without his Janie, he’s the reason Ryan is in town and when all three of them were on the page together, I couldn’t stop smiling.
Everything about this story was great…except there wasn’t enough of it! I’m a greedy reader and I wanted more but it was pretty much perfect.

Nick’s plan: dodge his grandmother’s matchmaking attempts by claiming Eve is his date for Christmas. He probably should have asked Eve first. They were the quintessential ‘it’ couple. Young, beautiful and ambitious. Everyone said they had what it took to make it. That they would last. She had stupidly believed it. All of it.
Hook, line & sinker.
Then he’d walked away and never looked back.
Never knew what he left behind.
Years later he finally returned to the place where they’d grown up. Met. Fell in love. Smiling and looking all handsome with his big strong SEAL body, and turning Ally’s carefully constructed world upside down.
But Archer realized his mistake and though it took some time, he was ready to make it right. For everyone involved.
And Christmas in Blissful was the perfect setting for magic, romance and a rekindled flame.
Can Archer and Ally find a way to let go of the past and reach for a future beyond Christmas Day?
