I’d barely touched her for sixty seconds, yet all the signs were there. “Did you come?”

She bit her lip and nodded, then threw her arm over her face and turned her head to the side. “I’m sorry,” she mumbled into the crook of her arm.

Getting off the couch, I grabbed her hands and pulled her to her feet. “Challenge accepted. Let’s disprove your hypothesis.”
