Title: Staying in Vegas
Series: Vegas Morelli Trilogy Book 1
Author: Sam Mariano
Genre: Mafia Romance
Release Date: April 4, 2018
Cover Designer: Covers by Combs
When I met Rafe Morelli, he didn’t look like the biggest mistake I’d ever make; he seemed closer to the crime family version of Prince Charming. Charismatic, beautiful, and attentive—with an intoxicating air of power—Rafe was the stuff of my darkest fantasies.
It should have been a simple fling, no-strings-attached. My hot weekend with the sexy, dominant Vegas boss—a harmless memory to replay once I returned to my quiet, predictable life.

One tiny hitch in that plan: a panty-melting memory isn’t all he left behind. Now the stakes have changed, and I’m faced with a potentially life-altering decision. Do I stay away and enjoy my status as the only woman in known history who has played in the Morelli flames without getting burned, or do I risk stepping back into the fire?
BOOK 1 OF 3 IN THE VEGAS MORELLI TRILOGY

Her favorite thing about indie publishing is the ability to play by your own rules! Art of War is the third story in the Stern Family Saga and this time it’s Zander’s story! He is the middle son with the middle child issues you would expect, only he’s the bearded hottie in a family full of super hot criminals. Zander is the one who sorts shit out when it needs to be sorted, and in this story he’s out to collect a family debt.

Murphy is a girl with issues. She’s been neglected by her too busy father so when she gets an unexpected inheritance she doesn’t know how to react. But when she meets Zander, man do the sparks fly!

She inherited daddy’s debt and he’s there to collect it, only she’s not cooperating. From the moment they meet, there are sparks. Chemistry. Fire.

Zander falls for Murphy in a big way and if I’m being honest in a way I didn’t think the bearded hottie was totally capable of. Turns out Zander and Monique Orgeron proved me wrong. This book is called Art of War for a damn good reason; Zander is willing to defy the family matriarch for the fiery redhead, and if you know anything about this family, that’s something they just don’t do.

The thing that I really enjoyed about this story was Murphy. Unlike the heroine in the other book I read, Art of Forgiveness, she is strong and tough. Sure, she’s got a whole barrel of issues that would take a therapist a lifetime to sort through, but she isn’t weak or delicate. She’s a fighter, a survivor and that really made this book a thrill ride.

Mix in a few twists and turns, a few lessons learned and you’ve got a damn good story!

MURPHY
Once Zander leaves, I hug myself, knowing I’m the one becoming stupid when it comes to him. I just have to be careful not to let it show. I feel everything he says that he does when we kiss. It’s a draw I have never felt, something I didn’t think existed. A spark that stays burning long after we’ve separated. It’s a spark that I can’t help wanting more of.
Kyle sneaks up on me and begins questioning. “Are you realizing how much you want him?”
            “What? No! Leave me alone!”
Kyle jumps with glee. “You are! Oh my God, Murphy you like him. Like, really like.”
“Shut up, Kyle, get out of my way!”
I march right past him, slamming my bedroom door. Oh God, I do like him, probably more than any other man I’ve ever met. What does that say about me? I know, that I’m glutton for punishment. How can I possibly find him, the man who belongs to the family that is holding my life in their hands more attractive, more interesting and more annoying than any other decent guy out there? Maybe because I never truly met a decent guy, and for some reason I think Zander is decent. And the way he makes me feel. I can still feel his hands on me, gently cleaning my injuries.
I can maybe deny him during the day but when I sleep there is no denying in my dreams. Every night since we’ve met, I can see and feel his touch, the way it felt to be in his arms or the way he controlled my body. The orgasms that he gave me, nothing has ever come close to that.
Shit, what am I thinking? I can’t have these feelings. He is nothing to me, or at least that’s what I need to keep telling myself. I will not be like my mother and fall for the wrong man, or any man. So, I’m in like with him, but it’s not love. Love doesn’t truly exist; not for me, it doesn’t.
I’m startled from my thoughts as Kyle barges into the room. “I wasn’t finished with you yet, Murph.”
“Oh yes, you are. I don’t want to talk about Mr. Zander Stern again.”
“Mr. Zander Stern, that’s what we’re calling him now? So professional. Is that a way for you to feel less comfortable with him?”
“What the hell are you talking about now?”
“I’m talking about how that man is sweet on you and you keep pushing him away like you always do. Except this time, I see something different.”
“Really? Do tell, I know you’re dying to.”
“Oh I will. I see the smoldering heat that comes off you two when you’re around each other. I see the desire in your eyes for him.”
“You’re full of shit, Kyle. It’s almost laughable.”
“Except that neither one of us is laughing. Why do this to yourself, Murphy?”
            “Do what, Kyle?”
“Why do you try so hard to keep people at bay? Why are you so determined not to let anyone in, especially men? That man cares for you so much that he has his mother waiting to collect from you, and you still push him away.”
I can’t answer, I have no answer for him other than I refuse to be used or hurt. I hang my head, not from shame, but for the time to build my defenses back up. Kyle’s right about me; over the years I let him in, I let him close enough to me that he recognizes my faults, but he has no right to throw them back in my face.
He refuses to stop. “Listen, Murphy, be smart. Even if you don’t want to admit how much Zander gets to you, you should still consider his mother’s offer. I heard everything. I know his mother wants you to marry him. I think you should do it. He can protect you, and you can keep a percentage of the casino. It’s a win-win.”
I’m done, that did it. “What the hell are you talking about? You want me to be forced to marry a man I don’t love to keep a small percentage of a casino I already own? You want me to be tied down to a man who is dangerous, not to mention a womanizer, to just piss away everything that’s mine by right? If that is my choice, I choose to just leave, go back home, let the Sterns have it all, just forget it ever existed. But I’m not. I will find a way to pay them back and keep what is mine without having to sacrifice the rest of my life.”
Kyle’s shaking his head in defeat. “Fine, Murph, do what you have to do, but honey, if you can’t pay them, you will lose everything, including Zander, and you won’t believe me now, but that will hurt more than losing the casino.”
I continue to watch in shock as he disappears into his bedroom. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I don’t care about Zander, and he definitely isn’t mine, so how could it hurt worse than losing my casino?
Written by Monique Orgeron’s eldest, most beautiful, and intelligent daughter. (My sister is going to hate this part.)

My mom happens to be the most caring, loving, and stubborn person I know, well anyone knows. She gives 100% percent of herself to everyone and has given up so much of herself for my sister and I. For twenty-one years she has poured her heart and soul into making sure we know that we are loved and that we can do anything we put our minds too, but it was about time she figured that out about herself.

Up until this year I hadn’t seen my mom do anything for only her, but this book has allowed her to travel the world through the pages of a book, make new friends, and feel the joy of doing something exciting.

There is a new light behind her eyes and it is just making me feel more joy than she can ever imagine. While she might be annoying most of the time, I am so thrilled that she is finally allowing herself to grow as a person and not spend all of her energy on her family.

It has been a long journey of self-discovery for my mom; she has gone from domestic supermom to domestic goddess throughout the process of writing.

We are so very excited and proud of you! I love you as big as the world.

RELEASE TOUR! ~ Dirty Blue by N.E. Henderson

Title: Dirty Blue
Series: Dirty Justice Trilogy
Author: N.E. Henderson

Genre: Romance – Contemporary | New Adult | Suspense

Release Date: March 20, 2018
D R A G O A C E R B I

I’ve known his name a long time. You’d have to live under a rock not to know of the heartless and cruel reputation the Acerbi family has established. They are monsters cloaked in suits and ties, or so my colleagues in blue have said. Being on the job, you quickly learn to watch your back, trust no one, and as much as I hate to admit this, sometimes that includes a fellow badge.
But to want to kill your own child for being born? Now that’s monstrous. Unjust. And something I will not stand for. I’ll take him down before I allow an innocent to be harmed.
Even if that means not only taking on the most dangerous family in Southern California but bringing down the drug lord they’re in bed with too.

Excerpt from Chapter 9

“If you’re here to nag me, please leave. I’m not dealing with your cop shit today.”
“Why not? I would think the sooner you answer my questions, show me anything I want to see, be honest with me, the sooner I’ll be out of your hair. I’d have thought that would be something you would want. Don’t you want to prove your innocence?”
“You don’t have shit on me and we both know it. If you did, I’d be in handcuffs, but I’m not, am I?” It’s not a question he wants a response to and he doesn’t stop to let me give one even if I wanted to. “You think I’m dirty, your boss thinks I am, so what? I don’t give a shit, Bri. You’re not going to find anything because there is nothing to find.”
“I don’t think you’re dirty,” I defend myself, quicker than I realize what’s coming out of my mouth. Sure, it’s my job to find the evidence if it exists, but my gut has known from the day I met him he wasn’t dirty. And I don’t think he’s a drug smuggler. I do think he’s keeping something a secret, but I don’t think that’s it. Something isn’t right about this case. I’ve felt that since my interview with Gabriel’s mother.
“Then why are you here if it isn’t to dig up something you think I’m dirty of doing?”
I move, taking a step into the room, getting closer to him and not for a professional reason. His remark hit something inside me and not in a good way.
“D,” I sigh, taking another step. “This is my job. A case that involves you was assigned to me. My job is to determine if there is any validation to the accusation against you. I am going to be thorough in this investigation whether you like it or not.” I tap my index finger on his desk to drive my point home. “But at no point”—my own anger starts to seep out of my voice—“did I ever give you the impression I thought you were dirty.”
I’m getting mad and I’ve never shown emotions or lost my composure on the job before. The fact that I am now, with him, is only agitating me.
His dark eyes cut away from me, but I see the moment his temper takes a step back. After another second, he looks down.
“The first day we met, you told me you thought I had an illegal business relationship with Diaz.” His eyes glide up. “Are you saying that’s changed? You no longer think I’m in bed with the Mexican Devil?”
This is what I didn’t need. The lines between us are more blurred than I thought.
He’s right; I did say that. It was a tactic I often use. A tactic I wanted to work on him, but it didn’t.
My knee touches one of his, startling the both of us. I didn’t even realize I’d moved this close. I’m too close and I shouldn’t be in his personal space. I know better, yet I’m not taking a step away.
“I’ve heard a lot of things about your family, mostly of your father through others on the force, but I never believe anything as truth until it’s proven. Until I see it for myself.” I place my palm on his shoulder. “The first day we met, something told me you weren’t bad, or dirty, as you said. I don’t judge without knowledge, without the truth, Drago. And right now, for some unknown reason, I don’t believe you’re guilty of all the accusations that have been made.”
The next thing I know, I’m in his arms and he’s out of his chair, standing. In a quick move, I’m placed down on his desk, on top of sheets of paper while his lips come down onto mine in such a soft manner it contradicts the aggressive way he just handled me.
I smile against his mouth, not able to hold my form to his. I like this way too much. Who knew rough and gentle could go together so well?
Still . . . This can’t happen. Again.
I go to put my hands on his chest to push him away, but he anticipates my action, quickly pushing them down. Drago then leans in closer to me, pushing my chest backward, making me strain to stay upright. His hand comes down on my dress pants, parting my thighs where it eats up the remaining space between us.
“Dra . . .” I try to say his name between our lips, but it comes out more like a moan when his other hand goes inside my suit jacket, cupping my waist.
Shit. I do not have a handle on this at all.
“D,” I finally get out, pulling away from him and successfully getting my hands on his chest, but when I push, he barely moves. Instead, he has my wrist in his hand, quickly pinning it to my back and holding me from falling at the same time. Next, my other wrist is in the hand that leaves my waist and before I know it, it’s also behind my back. A second later, my eyes widen at the realization that he’s cuffed me—with my own fucking handcuffs that were stashed between my back, clipped over my pants.
How the hell did he do that?
“What the fuck?”

Everyone wants a war.

He will give them one, but this is a war he plans on winning!
MURPHY
The car service pulls into a long driveway leading to a magnificent plantation-style mansion. It’s impressive, and I’m helped out of the car by a valet. Admiring the scenery for a second, I then enter the house through a wide-open foyer. I hand a masked man my invitation and begin walking to the center of the party.
I can’t help taking in all of the home for a minute; it’s incredible. A man comes around with a tray of champagne, and I accept one. As I look around the room, I notice all the masked people in their finest and I hear the sounds of a live band. It’s like something out of a movie with all the glamour.
Making my way around the room, I smile and gesture as people pass me by. I stop for a minute to again appreciate the beauty of it all. So far I am enjoying the night until I feel a presence close behind me. Fear takes hold of me, sending shivers throughout my body. Then I hear a whisper in my ear.
 “Hello, Red.”
I turn slowly looking up to see piercing blue eyes through a black mask. My fear vanishes, but now the shivers are from the searing heat this man provokes in me. I find my voice and say,
                “Well Hello, stranger.”
He chuckles. “I guess I am a stranger, but I plan on changing that.”
While looking into my eyes and without another word, he removes my champagne glass from my hand and hands it over to a blonde woman who just happens to be standing on the side of him. I almost interject, but I want to see what he does next. He smiles down at me, then grabs my hand and walks me to the dance floor. Then in a very domineering way, he glides his arm around my waist and lays his hand flat on my lower back, right below where my spine starts to curve to my ass. For a second, I think of raising his hand because it’s so low that it’s inappropriate, but I decide I like his hand there. He raises my other hand and lays it on his hard chest with his hand still holding mine, then he begins to move. As he glides me around on the dance floor, I am speechless for probably the first time in my life. I’m so blown away by how good it feels to be in his arms. I stare at our hands interlocked on his chest, noticing how large his hand actually is, it swallows my hand whole. My eyes continue trailing up his wide chest taking him all in, this man is so large, I feel so tiny with his arms around me. He’s like a giant; he must be at least six-feet-five, maybe six. I feel safe, like nothing could touch me in his arms. My eyes finally trace his neck up to his strong face, and then I see his cocky smile with dimples in his cheeks. Oh hell, he’s smiling like he knows my thoughts.
“Do you like what you see, Red?”
Here we go, his cockiness is coming through. I hate cockiness, but for some reason it’s sexy on him. I just can’t stand for him to think he has the upper hand.
So, I retaliate, “Well, you obviously like my ass because I feel your friend in your pants. And you might want to raise your hand off my ass, before we’re thrown out for indecency.”
He laughs out loud then bends, whispering in my ear, “I never get kicked out of anywhere, no one dares to touch me.” He straightens then says, “And I think I’ll leave my hand on your ass until you ask me to remove it, but you’re not asking, are you? Now as far as my friend goes, he is so eager to be your friend, too.”
This man has some nerve. The music changes, and I pull away, but he pulls me back to his chest, looking down at me through his mask. I’m so drawn into his blue eyes and dimples that I am distracted by them until I hear him say, “I’m not through with you.”
I gasp and say, “You sure are cocky and sure of yourself.”
“You have no idea, Red.”
Well, two can play that game. The band switched the music to something a little more sensual, so I take advantage and show him how cocky I can be. I start to take over the lead and start swaying my hips to the beat. I remove my hands from his, then turn, raising my arms above my head swaying my ass into him. I start lowering myself down to the rhythm, on my way back up he takes his hands and runs them down my sides.
I feel his breath on my neck as he warns, “You’re playing with danger, Red.”
I smile at that, knowing I got him. He’s putty in my hands. There is nothing more powerful than the feeling of having a large, powerful man under my spell. I continue my plan to seduce him and leave him standing here, begging for more. But that’s not what happens.
I lose my balance as he quickly turns me back around and says, “I warned you, Red.”
Without any further notice, he grabs my hand and practically knocks people out of our way as he drags me off the dance floor. I look up apologetically at the people around us and notice a woman staring our way. She’s older, more mature, but probably one of the most beautiful women in the room. Shaking the feeling of her eyes on us, I return to the brute pulling me away.
“Hey, where are you taking me?”
He grunts out loud then stops suddenly, he turns and asks, “Are you here with someone? Are you married?”
 “No and no. Why?”
He doesn’t say anything else as he goes back to aggressively pulling me down a wide hallway. He opens a door and pushes me through. Before I can yell at him, he grabs my face and kisses me hard. I start to melt into his arms; it’s like I forget myself, almost.
I pull away from him, slapping him hard across his face. Stunning him for only a second, he rubs his face and says,
“Game on.”
Shit, what did I do? He grabs my face again but this time he kisses me gently. Once again, my mouth opens for him and he takes over, slipping his tongue into my mouth. Oh my God, it’s the most sensual kiss I think I’ve ever had. Again, I melt, but this time I totally forget myself. As he slides his hands down my body, I forget everything. I forget my father, the casino, I forget Judith and the Sterns. I even forget my name.
He finishes the kiss and looks deep into my eyes with his devilish smile and softly asks, “What’s your name?”
I whisper back, “Red.”
Because right now that’s all I want to be. I don’t want to be Murphy Larussa with all her problems and hang-ups. Normally I would never allow a man to have this much power over me, and I definitely have never had a one-night stand. But for right now, I just simply want to be his Red, and I desperately want him.
