ABOUT:

The men in Nicole McLaughlin’s Man Enough series are tough Alphas devoted to serving their country and the women who love them.

National Guardsman Aiden King has been attracted to Hannah Walters for a while, but he never made a move because of her close relationship with his best friend. But when circumstances change, Aiden is surprised when his friend gives his blessing. Problem is, there’s a reason he’s still alone after all these years, and as much as he wants her, that secret keeps him from acting on his desires.

Hannah has finally decided to wait for the kind of love you read about in books and see in movies. After her failed engagement, Aiden’s unassuming support has become a touchstone for Hannah. It soon becomes apparent that he may be exactly the kind of man she’s been looking for. But the closer they become, the more he keeps her at arm’s length.

When Aiden suggests a road trip to take Hannah’s mind off her troubles, the two of them go on a journey neither one expected. She just hopes that the final destination is them together for good.

When I first started reading Only With You I thought this was going to be one of those weird stories where the friends are overly involved in each other’s lives to create unnecessary drama.

I’m glad that I was wrong.

We first meet Hannah and she’s feeling low because not only has her twin sister fallen in love with her very best friend, but she was painfully single after ending an engagement that just wasn’t right. She was swearing off men and working on herself, something every woman of a certain age has done in the aftermath of a big break up. And wouldn’t you know that’s just when she finds the right guy!

Aiden is…a peach. He’s handsome and quiet and kind of brooding but I wouldn’t call him a bad boy. He thinks he’s a bad man but as we learn throughout Only With You that he’s actually the best type of man.

Watching their friendship slowly develop into something more was beautiful and fun and sometimes hilarious because our girl Hannah is a talker with a capital T. It takes some time for them to actually get together and there is plenty of self-created drama to keep them apart but not enough hat it becomes ridiculous and overwrought.

Nicole McLaughlin’s story was fun and engaging and I had a good time reading it from start to finish.

NEW RELEASE!! ~ Simmer by Stephanie Rose

Title: Simmer
Author: Stephanie Rose
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: May 16, 2018

“Simmer is the perfect concoction of a sweet and savory romance that sizzles off the page.” ~ Bestselling author, Faith Andrews

“All the stars! This book is an absolute must read! Rose’s amazing talent for storytelling and character development shine throughout this book.” ~ NovelMomma

“Simmer is poignant, passionate, and the kind of slow burn that will have you boiling over with excitement as you devour every last word.” ~ Bestselling author, BL Berry

Simmer (verb): to stew gently below or just at the boiling point; to be in a state of incipient development

My life was always at a simmer… only stewing, never going anywhere. I was left to fend for myself when it came to affection or love, so I learned to go without.

I refused to let them see how broken and lonely I was; it was much easier to hide behind a false reality. I didn’t want anyone’s pity. I didn’t need it. Pity wouldn’t put food on the table or keep a roof over our heads. That was all me.

Now, I have a second chance at a dream long forgotten. It demands hard work and sacrifice—with absolutely no distractions. A recipe I already know all too well, raising a daughter on my own.

Drew Kostas is everything I’ve ever wanted but couldn’t let myself have. He’s younger, gorgeous, charming—and relentless. He sees beyond the hardened shell I’ve built to protect myself, coaxing out a softer me I don’t recognize.

It doesn’t matter how I melt in his presence when the heat between us threatens to boil over.

That’s the thing about heat. When it rises, everyone gets burned.

Especially when they’re foolish enough to fall in love.

NEW RELEASE & REVIEW!! –> Stumbling Into Him by Molly O’Hare

Title: Stumbling Into Him
Author: Molly O’Hare
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: May 15, 2018

Holly is, in a word, amazing. She is clumsy as hell, hilarious, a tad insecure and so much fun I want her to be my new best friend. As someone who’s earned the ironic nickname ‘Grace’ I can totally relate to her ability to fall over flat surfaces, run into suddenly fully erected walls and all that fun stuff. Though I can say that despite my years hanging out on a college quad, I have never been assaulted by a frisbee.

Like Holly.

But that one little frisbee put her in the path of a pretty delicious morsel of man candy, book boyfriend extraordinaire and all around good guy, Ben. He’s from a very influential family who isn’t satisfied with his lowly career as a veterinarian so things between him and his mom are tense. To say the least.

But other than his wicked bitch of a stepmother, Stumbling Into Him is what a romance novel should be. It was fun and funny, sexy with a healthy dose of drama. Let’s not forget the adorable pets who were characters in their own right. At times the klutz angle was overdone but it never detracted from the story in my opinion. I had a good time reading this book and though Molly Bloom is new to me (I think) I’d definitely pick up another of her titles.

I should have listened the second time around.

My name is Kandi, and he called me his Kandiland.
The king declared I was his medicine, and with each dose, he became better and better.

He was the worst she ever had, so why can’t she get him out of her head?

Francisca Rivera— call her Frannie, please— says what she means and takes what she wants. Six months ago, all it took was one look at James, the gorgeous, bearded man pouring drinks at her favorite bar, and she had to have him in her bed.

To say she had been disappointed would be the biggest understatement in the history of all understatements. James was a no good, very bad lay.

But there is just something about James’ quiet, steady manner and the way he’s always watching her at the bar— like she’s something special— that keeps her wanting.

Frannie is wild and free with an aversion to relationships. James is soft-spoken and shy with a tendency to be reclusive. Can two opposites meet somewhere in the middle and take a second chance at their first time?
