NEW RELEASE!!! ~ In This Life by Cora Brent

Title: In This Life
Author: Cora Brent
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: May 15, 2018

In This Life is an emotionally satisfying read featuring two flawed characters who aren’t nearly as bad as they think. Kathleen was the town prodigy, the girl most likely go out there and kick life’s ass. But things tend to get in the way, for her it was getting pregnant and dropping out of school to raise her adorable little daughter Emma. But never one to let life get her down, Kat makes it work.

Then there’s Nash. Sexy, brooding, grumpy Nash. After finding his father banging the girl he wanted for himself, Nash left town and never came back. At least until a wildfire took the life of his father and stepmother, leaving him sole guardian of his little brother.

In This Life had so many elements that I loved. The geeky girl all grown up, stunning and doesn’t know it. The single parents helping each other out and watching it develop into more. The adorably precocious kids and of course, the sexy but out of his depth new parent. Watching their friendship develop was beautiful but watching it turn to something more for two people who’d been through so much was just fantastic and satisfying!

Kat and Nash were a little hard on themselves, I think. I understood their secrets and why they kept them and never once did I feel the urge to judge them for their decisions. There wasn’t much conflict, for which I was grateful, and the ending left me all warm and fuzzy.

BOOK REVIEW! ~ That Unexpected Kiss by Tamara Ferguson

Get your copy HERE!!!

ABOUT:

FBI Agent Dylan Nash is in Wisconsin searching for his father’s killer. While working undercover as a game warden in the town of Crystal Rock, he meets special education teacher Julie Thompson, and he’s immediately attracted. But the problem with that? Not only does Julie work in Colorado, but she’s involved with another man.

While visiting her hometown, Julie and Dylan become friends, but she’s devastated to learn he’s dating her best friend Kate.

A few years later, when a teaching position opens at the new Crystal Visions school for children with disabilities, Julie accepts the job and moves back home

Learning that a series of misunderstandings has kept them apart, Dylan finally confesses his feelings, claiming Julie with an unexpected kiss.

But twenty years ago, Dylan’s father was killed and Julie’s mother disappeared. Julie is obsessed with discovering the truth, and Dylan wants justice. When clues link her mother’s twenty-year-old disappearance to the man who shot his father, can Dylan keep Julie safe from a vicious predator?

That Unexpected Kiss is the story of Julie and Dylan, a special education teacher and an FBI agent. Dylan fell in love with Julie pretty much the moment he met her but circumstances in their geographical locations and a pretty big misunderstanding they didn’t end up going on a single date in the beginning. But time has a way of changing things and Tamara Ferguson did a great job of building up that earlier anticipation because you know they’re going to meet and have a good time but when and how is anybody’s guess! When you add in the mystery of who killed Dylan’s father and the disappearance of Julie’s mother, you have a well rounded story with lots of heart and plenty of suspense.

I have to say that as enjoyable as That Unexpected Kiss was, it did take a while before I was interested enough to read a few chapters without stopping. But once I was into the story there was no stopping, no going back. Not at least until after the mystery was solved, the curtain fell and the happy ending commenced. Tamara Ferguson really excelled at blending the romance and family with the mystery which meant the book felt like what it was instead of half romance and half suspense. I was pleasantly surprised by the story of Julie and Dylan, and intrigued by the mystery until the very end.

Crystal Rock was a great little small town with plenty of heart and character. The chemistry with Dylan and Julie was a simmering heat that they dealt with all while dealing with every other obstacle life threw in their way. A fun, solid read by a new to me author that I highly recommend.

NEW RELEASE! –> The Rehabilitation of Angel Sinclair by Nancee Cain

Title: The Rehabilitation of Angel Sinclair
Series: A Pine Bluff Novel
Author: Nancee Cain
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 27, 2018

Angel Sinclair arrives in Pine Bluff, Alabama with one goal: make amends and move on. But his chance meeting with the beautiful owner of Sleep Inn on the Lake lands him a job, a place to stay, and something else he hasn’t had for years in his life: love and trust.

Still reeling from a bitter divorce, Maggie Robertson is determined to start over as proprietress of a new bed and breakfast. Getting involved with anyone in this gossipy small town is not on her to-do list–especially someone closer to her son’s age than her own.

When she opens the door to find the dreadlocked and tattooed Angel on her porch, her quiet life and preconceived notions are turned upside down. Maggie’s self-confidence soars under his undivided attention. Angel is drawn by Maggie’s quiet acceptance…and he can’t stop staring at her ass.

But Angel’s fondness for Maggie’s company is topped only by his penchant for keeping secrets, which leads Maggie to wonder if she has it wrong. Perhaps age differences do matter, opposites should not be allowed to attract, and love does not conquer all–even if it’s written on the wall.

During the day, Nancee works as a counselor/nurse in the field of addiction to support her coffee and reading habit. Nights are spent writing paranormal and contemporary romances with a serrated edge. Authors are her rock stars, and she’s been known to stalk a few for an autograph, but not in a scary, Stephen King way. Her husband swears her To-Be-Read list on her e-reader qualifies her as a certifiable book hoarder. Always looking to try something new, she dreams of being an extra in a Bollywood film, or a tattoo artist. (Her lack of rhythm and artistic ability may put a damper on both of these dreams.)

NEW RELEASE! ~ Weather the Storm by LK Farlow

Title: Weather the Storm
Series: The Southern Roots Series
Author: LK Farlow
Genre: NA/Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 26, 2018

Allyson – “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.. Kate’s books just keep getting better! This is her best book yet and I’m cannot wait to get more from her!”

Dani Fuselier – “I’m blown away by her talent and want everyone to read this amazing story.”

Joy Novel Thoughts – “Weather the Storm is L.K. Farlow’s best work yet! Simon and Magnolia stole my heart from the first page and never let go!”

Magnolia Ellington is all too aware that dangerous things can come in shiny packages. Her husband made sure to teach her that.

Desperate to escape his wrath—and his fists—she flees in the dark of night. Seeking safety and shelter with the only family she has left, Magnolia finds herself in the sleepy, Southern town of Dogwood—and in the arms of Simon McAllister.

Simon has always been more of a thinker than a doer. That changes the minute he meets shy and mysterious Magnolia. She has him rushing into action, ready and willing to do whatever it takes to earn her trust.

Slowly, with his steadfast determination and kind heart, Simon brings Magnolia out of her shell. But just as things start heating up between the two of them, the darkness of Magnolia’s past resurfaces, threatening to rip apart everything they’ve worked so hard for.

With their future hanging in the balance, Simon fears he’s losing Magnolia. Now, he must convince her that, together, they can weather the storm.
I jolt awake, momentarily disoriented by the rhythmic beeping coming from my right. Beep. Beep. Beep. Again and again, the sound causes my temples to throb. Even though my eyes are still pinched closed, I know this is not my room, and I am not in my bed. Without warning, the events that led me here flash through my mind: hitting Simon’s truck and the subsequent ambulance ride. I remember the CT scan, and being given pain medication. I must have fallen asleep shortly after that.

I inhale deeply, trying to get my bearings, and cringe at the smell of antiseptic hanging in the air. God, I hate hospitals.

Slowly, I try to blink my eyes open, only to immediately close them again. Whimpering at the brightness of the room, I sink farther into the small, firm mattress before steeling my resolve to try again.

I peel one lid open and hold it, adjusting, before peeling the other open as well. “So bright,” I whine to myself, squinting up at the light above me. My head feels like an entire drumline has taken it as their practice space; the thrumming and pounding is incessant.

With all the strength I can muster, I roll my head to face the far wall of the small hospital room, only to startle at the sight of the most gorgeous man I’ve ever laid eyes on sleeping in the chair in the corner, his light-brown hair messy, his chiseled jaw covered in stubble. “S-Simon?” I whisper, more to myself than to him.

All the same, he jolts like someone took a live wire to his skin. “You’re up?” He lunges from the chair toward me, gently taking my hand in his, scanning my body before bringing his deep-blue eyes to mine. “Are you—fuck, you have no idea how happy I am to see those baby-blue eyes right now. Let me call for your doctor.”

He starts to withdraw his hand from mine, and I let out the most pathetic whimper, halting him. “Don’t go,” I beg.

“Not going anywhere. Just gonna hit the call button,” he assures me, leaving me feeling foolish, even though that wasn’t his intention.
LK Farlow (A.K.A Kate) is a small town girl with a love for words. She’s been writing stories and poems for as long she can remember. A Southern girl through and through, Kate resides in beautiful, sunny LA—that’s Lower Alabama, y’all—with her amazing husband and three wonderful children. When she’s not writing, you can find her snuggled up on the couch watching nature documentaries while she crochets or with her nose in a book. All Kate really wants in this life is her family happy, strong coffee, a good book and more Happily Ever After’s.

RELEASE DAY! ~ Fixed Infatuation by Stacy Borel

Title: Fixed Infatuation
Author: Stacy Borel
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 26, 2018
Cover Designer: Hart and Bailey Design Co

Molly Hartford was a writer with big dreams, and even bigger aspirations. She had no idea how far out of her depth she was about to be, when she bought a dilapidated house in the Washington Peninsula. It was in desperate need of some help, but she was fully convinced that she could do majority of the work herself. A few self-help videos, and maybe a class at a hardware store — she’d have this in the bag.
Easy peasy.
Before she even signed the papers, she noticed her sexy neighbor, Blake Whitmore. He was a general contractor with his own business and an eye for detail. Painting walls, repairing cabinets and caulking bathtubs were among his many specialties. Blake was dead set on showing her she had no business remodeling a home.
Playful flirting, sexual innuendos, and physical attraction are all part of the job… right?

Except they both may find out that things aren’t all fun and games when walls come down, and layers are scraped away. Relationships are built on solid ground, but not when foundations are full of cracks and there’s so much more hiding underneath.

Stacy is a mother of three, lover of food, and self-proclaimed coffee addict. She is a world traveler and started her crazy adventures at the ripe young age of five. Her father was an officer in the Air Force, and it allowed for her to see places from the Azores, Portugal to Honolulu, Hawaii. Stacy went to eight different schools before she graduated high school. After having her first two children, Stacy decided to expand on her love of reading and tried her hand at writing in 2012. She released her first novel mid-2013 and thus began her writing career. At the moment you can find Stacy in northern Alabama typing away on her next book, and enjoying life. Contact Stacy at stacy.borel@yahoo.com
