Romance Book Review! ~ Part-Time Husband by Noelle Adams

ABOUT:

On a Wednesday afternoon, I ask Trevor Bentley to marry me. He might be the most arrogant, obnoxious man I know, but I need him to be my husband for a year.

There are reasons.

He’s not going to be a real husband. Just part-time. Yes, I have to live with him. And, okay, I also have to share his bed. And, sure, he’s the hottest and most exciting thing to ever happen to my controlled, organized life.

But still… It’s only a part-time marriage. I’m not going to give him my heart. I know what I’m doing, and I’m too smart to fall for my husband.

I hope.

This is the story of Melissa and Trevor, who barely even like each other but one day in the middle of the week, they get married. Why? Because, reasons. You’ll find that part out right at the start of the story and it’s important but it’s not the juicy part of this story.

Part-Time Husband is an enemies to lovers romance that is just so much fun. Melissa is kind of…stiff. She’s formal and aloof and scared as hell of pretty much anything to do with emotions. She has good reasons for it, but I mean come on honey get some therapy. But, I digress.

Melissa’s part-time husband is Trevor who is hot and charming and did I mention arrogant? He is a man who knows he’s got it going on and he’s not shy about it. Except he is kind of oddly shy with Melissa. Cocky as hell, for sure, but also kind of shy and hesitant. It’s clear from the beginning that they both kind of like each other but they get stuck in this mindset of being enemies and it’s hard to let that go.

Until they do and then holy moly do they let it go. Big time. This book contains quite a bit of steam to go with watching them slowly fall. It’s a really fun time and reminded me of exactly why I’ve always been a Noelle Adams fan.

Romance Book Review!! ~ Untying the Knot by Meghan Quinn

ABOUT:

Ryot Bisley is my husband.

Yes, the former third baseman for the Chicago Bobbies and absolute heart throb of the Windy City. That Ryot Bisley.

The first time I ran into him, he was grumpy, a horrific host, and left me on his sofa with nothing but a nylon baseball flag to use as a blanket.

The second time, he reluctantly bought me dinner, stared at my chest the entire night, and still sported that permanent frown.

The third time . . . well, that was a game changer. His smile captured me, his teasing charmed me, and his touches excited me.

So when he was called up to the majors that didn’t stop us from knocking it out of the park and all the way down the aisle.

Eleven years later…I’d love to say we’re happy as ever but the man who sent me dirty text messages every day is long gone and Mr. Frowny Face is back.

He’s so focused on trying to build a life after baseball that he doesn’t see the life we’ve already created together. . .so I make the hard decision and serve him divorce papers.

Problem is…my husband refuses to accept those papers. Instead, he has a new game plan that makes untying the knot of our marriage a little tricky. And just when I thought I wanted to be traded . . . he’s slowly, tantalizingly roping me back in.

Romance Book Review! ~ The Sweetheart Fix by Miranda Liasson

ABOUT:

Juliet Montgomery absolutely loves her small town of Blossom Glen, Indiana, and everyone loves her. Except for the fact that she’s a couples counselor who suffered a very public breakup that no one can forget. And now her boss asks her to take a step back…which is exactly when the town’s good-lookin’ and unusually gruff mayor offers her an unexpected job.

Jack Monroe absolutely loves being the mayor of his small town. Except when he actually has to talk to people. Can’t he just fix the community problems in peace? Like right now, he’s mediating the silliest dispute two neighbors could possibly have. When the town sweetheart steps up and solves everyone’s problems in five minutes flat, Jack realizes what this town really needs…is a therapist.

Juliet is able to soothe anyone—other than the surly mayor, it seems. But there’s a reason they say opposites attract, because all of their verbal sparring leads to some serious attraction. Only, just like with fireworks, the view might appear beautiful—but she’s already had one public explosion that’s nearly ruined everything…how can she risk her heart again?

Each book in the Blossom Glen series is STANDALONE:
* The Sweetheart Deal
* The Sweetheart Fix

I really had a wonderful time with Juliet and Jack. They were a fun enemies to lovers romance with a very significant slow burn that worked well since they each had their own reasons for avoiding relationships.

He’s the no nonsense mayor and she’s the town sweetheart, and they are all kinds of tangled up together thanks to her sister and his best friend so avoiding one another is pretty difficult, but somehow they managed. Me thinks they managed a little too much?

Anyway the moment Jack and Juliet are on the page together you can feel the sparks. She is sassy and sweet and has her own issues to battle, same as Jack. But the attraction cannot be denied, no matter how hard they try. The way they complement each other but can’t see it yet was such a good twist and it was really made the romance ring true.

Like I said, I had a good time reading this story. I liked The Sweetheart Deal but The Sweetheart Fix was like a fun rom-com movie it was so engaging. There were plenty of fun side characters, most especially Jack’s pint-sized grandmother and all of Juliet’s whacky family.

Definitely a 5 star read for me!

Synopsis:

Jovie

Between running a successful business and attempting to pen a best-selling novel, I don’t have the time or energy for the kind or romance I love to write about.

So, I let it fall to the wayside.

The thing is, life has a funny way of delivering what you need when you least expect it. And trust me, I was not expecting a poodle to be the one delivering a sexy Brit into my world.

Ewan

A tragic accident left me with time for only one woman in my life – my little sister, Amelia. Raising a teenager is enough work without adding in the hassle that comes with relationships.

But when my disobedient dog, Clark, crashes into a sexy dog trainer and practically bows at her feet, the attraction is immediate.

The chemistry between us is hard to fight and Jovie fits comfortably in my life with Amelia.

It’s all or nothing when someone else decides they want to change the game. Someone deadly, who has their sights set on what’s mine.
